Arcade Teams Up With RECCO To Launch First-Ever Belt Equipped With Avalanche Rescue Technology




RECCO, the global leader in rescue technology, announces its first product collaboration with Arcade, founded on the belief that belts could function better, last longer, and be more comfortable. Arcade joins a family of 150-plus brands that integrate RECCO reflectors to make users more searchable in the outdoors.

Arcade designs and builds high-performance belts for utility, lifestyle, and outdoor adventure. With the launch of the brand’s first Arcade x RECCO  belt, engineered with a patented A2 Buckle System and designed with performance stretch for flexibility of movement, wearers can head into the backcountry with an additional layer of searchability. RECCO reflectors allow wearers to be searchable by professional search and rescue teams.

“At Arcade, we’re always exploring ways to push our products further in terms of performance, functionality, and innovation,” Devon Lambert, Director of Product at Arcade, said. “Integrating RECCO technology into our belts adds meaningful value without compromising comfort or design. It requires no power, you don’t even notice it’s there, and it adds an extra layer of safety for those who take adventure seriously.”

RECCO reflectors are found across a range of outdoor products, across all seasons. A global standard in outdoor search technology, the system is used on 900-plus locations in 32 countries of ski resorts and rescue organizations. Search and Rescue professionals are able to utilize RECCO technology to search for people year-round, with both the RECCO Handheld Detector and the RECCO SAR Helicopter Detector.

“Arcade is a brand incredibly dedicated to functionality and reinventing a category, and that makes this partnership particularly exciting,” Fredrik Steinwall, CEO at RECCO, said. “Because Arcade’s performance belts can be integrated into a wide range of apparel for different outdoor activities, this partnership can help outdoor users add searchability and function to a garment that may not already have a RECCO reflector in it,” he added.

Four-season searchability is now possible with the expansion of the RECCO SAR Helicopter Detector. The RECCO detector network continues to grow with more and more placements being added, allowing more people across outdoor disciplines to be searchable in case of emergency. The helicopter detector can quickly search large areas, covering a square kilometer in six minutes. Along with helping reduce search times for missing people, the helicopter-based detector can reduce the time and risk exposure for rescue workers during missions.

RECCO advanced rescue technology makes outdoor enthusiasts searchable to rescuers in case of an avalanche accident or when lost in the outdoors. The technology builds on a two-part radar system. Rescuers carry RECCO detectors that send out search signals which are echoed by RECCO reflectors, carried by the user. RECCO detectors are used worldwide at more than 900 ski resorts and mountain rescue organizations in 32 countries.
